A pair of bliauts I made for Keldor and I
These were started the first year we were together, to be worn if we win Nordmark Coronet. They achieved wearable already that spring, but could still be improved. We have almost never worn them, in part because they were made “just in case”
- 2022-05-13 finished the chevron on the front of mine, thus rendering both wearable. Then promptly drew the curve and pinned on the black band for the back part of the skirt. I have no record of how much longer it took to get that attached.
- 2021-09-07 sewed far enough that the upper part is done and skirt gores starting to be attached
- 2021-08-25 solved a problem: It turns out that if one does the problem bit inside-out with respect to the rest of the seam it works much better! The problem was that I needed to attach a curved bit to the square underarm gore, and folding the curve in makes huge puckers in the seam. (See photo for before (left), and after (right)).
- 2021-07-18 worked out the cutting diagram with my measurements and started sewing
