Of all the projects I have led, I am most proud of the Norrskensbardsmanteln. It was a group project that employed a total of 23 people for 210 hours of sewing and embroidery on the mantle and about 20 hours of work for the coat clasps. On Monday, August 24, 2015, I started cutting the first piece of fabric and just two months later the mantle was ready to be presented to the first Norrskensbard.

The inspiration for the mantle itself comes from the 11th century: the coronation mantle of Roger II of Sicily which is embroidered in gold on red silk.

The inspiration for the northern lights on the mantle comes from a woodcut engraving from 1521 in the book Flack-Ytter, Das Polarlicht: Nordlicht und Südlicht in myth., naturwiss. und apokalypt. Sicht, which has been republished by Freies Geistesleben, Stuttgart, 1999,

The inspiration for the musical instrument on the mantle comes from the book Musica Instrmentalis Deudsch written by Martin Agrico, in 1529.
