We reached Robert’s just enough before midnight that we were back on the road four minutes before midnight, which gave us just enough time to chat a little, pick up the things we’d come to collect, and borrow the toilet.

Then it was “only” 199 km left to drive to their sister’s house where the bed was already standing ready for our arrival.

We arrived at Rebeccah’s at 02:30, and went straight to bed. Keldor woke feeling refreshed around 08:30. I was still super tired, but as we had sat in a car for 12 hours yesterday, I did a quick pilates session, and then slept another hour.

When I woke I checked the gps, and it said if we left now, we would be at site at 14:30. I didn’t want to get up, but we wanted to visit at least one runestone on the way, so I did.

It turned out that Rebeccah had gotten up a bit before me, and was mixing up a batch of scones. So we spent a pleasant not quite two hours chatting over breakfast, and started driving towards site at 11:30.

If all had gone well, and there were no reasons to stop, that would have gotten us to site at 16:11, which would be quite ok timing, as from 16:00 one can drive in and start setting up camp.

A bit after 13:00 Charlotte suggested we stop at a pharmacy, as she needed something to treat the pain in her tummy/gallbladder. A bit later she realised that the pain was migrating, and the symptoms were now more like a heart attack (she has had two previously), so we dialed the gps to the nearest emergency room, which was in Hässleholm, about 40 minutes away.

Her pain got worse, so we called emergency services (112 in Sweden), and after describing the symptoms they suggested we pull over and wait for an ambulance to come to us. Luckily, just about then there was a gas station at the side of the road, so we could wait under its roof, at which point we were 30 minutes from the emergency room we had been aiming at.

It took about 30 minutes for the ambulance to arrive and check her out. The first person got out, and introduced themselves to Charlotte “Hi, my name is Emma”. The the driver got out and came over, and I read the driver’s name tag. Emma. Yes, they are both Emma, makes it easier they said.

They decided to bring her into the hospital, and we started driving towards site again. Revised ETA, if we don’t stop, 17:45.

As it turned out, we managed to arrive on site at 17:40. After checking in we unloaded the car (with pauses on Keldor’s part to discuss camp laout plans with the others now that the full extent of our land allotment is known, and I kept unloading and sorting stuff into related piles for easier finding later).

By the time the car was empty the plan was complete, so I started putting up my pavilion while Keldor took the car to the parking lot. He was back by the time I needed help, and then I started moving in while he set up other tents.

It was full dark by the time the tents were done, so the sunshades needed to wait for tomorrow. He sat down and ate something our camp mates fed him, while I finished enough of the moving in and organising of stuff that I was starting to think perhaps it was bed time.

About then he came in to get his toothbrush, so I accepted that it was, did a short yoga session, and we were in bed before midnight (15 minutes before counts).
