Slept for 7.5 hours, did yoga, and then enjoyed porridge made from museli with Keldor, Tania, and Mike.
After breakfast we loaded up the car and headed to the pre-Straberry Raid event prep session at Sigginstown Castle, where there wasn’t so much that needed doing, as they as bren do effective yesterday.
So I took Tania and Mike into the Cafe to meet the owners, and soon they were discussing music venues, concerts at the castle, etc.
As they were about to get the tower tour, I saw Keldor walk by with the armour bag, which we are leaving on site, so I went out to help collect the rest of our stuff from the car.
Etienne was soon ready to leave, so I ran quickly up the tower to say good-bye and thanks to Tania and Mike. She messaged me later to ley me know tjat while it had been Mike who wanted to do a short visit to the castle, as they have packing to do for their trip to Scotland for a concert, it was, in fact, still Mike happily geeking out about guitars, that meant they hadn’t gotten back on the road yet.
The weather since arriving has been lovely. Cool, mostly overcast, rain only while we are indoors. Today, however, is supper sunny and hot. The first hour of driving wasn’t that hot. Then we stopped at a rest area where they bought fast food, and I ate museli and skyr I had with me. We continued drivig, and the sun beating in the windows got hotter and hotter.
Ireland. Our second trip here together and, so far, it is convincing Keldor and I that rain only happens when we are in a car, or indoors, and many days are so sunny one doesn’t want to leave the shade.
After another hour we stopped at a huge Tesco for groceries, and enjoyed the cool of the store, and the part where the car waited in a covered car park, so cooled down a bit before we returned.
For the last part of the drive we opened the windows far enough to get maximum airflow, and the temperature was much better, though I needed to wear my buff to keep the wind out of my hearing aids.
The house Etienne, Cego, and their dog, Shelby bought since our last visitis so cute! Located in the corner of Cormaddyduff, Co. Cavan, Ireland. It was built in the early 1900’s and it has glorious thick walls, so stays nice and cool in the heat.

The main house might be large cement blocks rateher than stone, at least the outer surface has regular lines in it to give that impression, but the two out buildings are certainly stone, as they show through the covering on the edges.
Their view is of their own garden, and the neighbours sheep paddock.

A delightful place to visit, and I am certain they will love living here long term. They hosted a shire winter holiday gathering for everyone who didn’t have local family to spend the holidays with, and what a perfect place for it.
Etienne had a meeting soon after we arrived, and Cego was busy, so Keldor and I relaxed in the shade of the garden, with Shelby’s company and I sewed clasps onto 2024 Keldor’s laurel caftan
