Work
I went in to work today for the Swedigarch Monthly meeting, and left the meeting inspired and energised about work, so I guess this means that I not only have a fun job, but good colleagues, too.
I like our new summer intern, Bruno, too, which is good, as I will be their contact person when everyone else is on vacation.
Inspiration to start a project I haven’t time for
Since the meeting ended at 12:00, I caught the 12:30 bus, and happily worked, ticking off many simple to-dos arising from the meeting, till we got to Sikeå, when I suddenly couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer, so I packed up the computer and took a 20 minute nap, after which we were close enough to home I didn’t bother reopening the computer, and checked notifications instead
One of them led me to a cool resource: https://bardictorch.miraheze.org/wiki/Get_Started_Contributing
I have been thinking of adding a bardic section to this blog, and copying over my songs from Trello, but this really encourages me to do so, so I can link my stuff there, and make it available to others. Besides, there are no Swedish songs there, yet. (But no time to start thay today)
How’s Hugo doing?
On my walk home from the bus I went past Bryan’s to see how Hugo wwas getting on.

Good little lawn mower! Having Hugo running daily has transformed the lawn into a groomed service.
A yummy interlude
Then I went home, cooked my artichoke, and, as it cooked, made an experimental batch of Browned butter and roasted almond candy, which I carefully didn’t try until after eating my artichoke. I attemped to walk away from the candy four times. I finally succeded, but I think I ate about half the batch before I escaped to the cellar, far from temptation.
Home improvements
While Keldor finished mowing our lawn I cut the fibreglass wallpaper to cover the wall in the downstairs bathroom.
Then we played a quick game of Qwirkle as he ate dinner before we hung the paper. Now we can paint the walls tomorrow.
Unloaded the car
After we finished the wallpaper I was inspired to put away the stuff in the luggage I hadn’t yet dealt with after getting home on Monday.
Having done that, I was inspired to start unloading the car, thinking that I would put away a couple of things, and save the rest for tomorrow.
But I was having so much fun putting things where they belong, that I just kept going. I didn’t stop till the only things left in the van were the box that lives upstsirs in the entry way and Keldor’s new spit-roasting grill. We don’t yet have an “away” for the grill yet, and the chest can sit there till tomorrow, when we can drive the car around to the front of the house.
Stayed up too late
Then I went upstairs, spent quite a while in various conversations on Messenger, did my yoga, and updated this. I would wonder how it is nearly midnight already, but I think I know.
Of course, I didn’t go to sleep straight away
Instead, I started filling in some of the songs I have written on the new bardic section of my blog. In just over an hour, I only managed to copy over my first year’s Norrskensbard entries:
But now I will sleep!
