This morning

Despite my late night last night, I managed to get up on time this morning and took the bus to town.

I had enough to do on the bus that I didn’t finish before I arrived, and I went straight to the eye section of the hospital for the follow up field of vision test to see if last week’s lower than normal score was reflexes or an actual change in my vision. I passed this time, so this is now three times, I think, where I have been called back a few days for a do-over of that test, and did better the second time.

A good workday and a kindrid spirit

Then I went to work and met with some colleagues for help on a project, and after lunch I went to a meeting to be interviewed for a paper on how people interact with data and meta data in an era of “data driven science”, and discovered a kindrid spirit.

Fatemeh loves meta data as much as I do, and we had a great discussion on databases, science what is data, what is metadata, etc. We also discussed the SCA, Visby medieval week, crafts, etc., and I promised to send links, which I did on the bus home.

Time to splat on the couch

Keldor and I made it home at the same time today, literally. He picked me up from the side of the road as I was walking from the bus. We were both feeling tired, and just wanted to curl up on the couch with food and a book.

So I warmed some left over veg and enjoyed it and read, as he installed the replacement water pump for his aquarium he’d bought today to replace the one thst broke yesterday (and, since he’d like to keep the fish alive, this was higher on the priority list than relaxing, for which I am certain that if the fish knew, they would be grateful).

But as soon as that was accomplished he went to make some popcorn, the perfect sit on the couch and relax sort of snack, and discovered to his dismay that we are nearly out of popcorn, and there isn’t even a single serving in the jar. So we went off to the store to get more, and, since we were there got some bananas, strawberries, and carrots, too and even an low alcohol beer for him to enjoy with his popcorn.

He popped a big batch, and I took some in a smaller bowl with some nutritional yeast, and he took the rest in the huge bowl, with some spices, and we happily read for a while.

Home improvements

Eventually, he got sleepy and curled up on the couch for a nap, and I got up, washed the dishes, and went downstairs to paint a coat of wet room primer paint over the wet room wallpaper on the new wall in the bathroom.

Change in plans

We had planned to head to Luleå tomorrow directly after work for the first night of Spelmansstämman. This would have meant my heading in with him in the morning, and working at his dad’s till he was done.

But when we saw how tired we were after work today, and thought about how much I would meed to pack tonight, to be able to go tomorrow we revised the plan.

I will work from home, he will go to work, and come home afterwards. We will enjoy a quiet evening at home, and then head north early Saturday sp I get there on time to join Danskul for one of their dances during the performance.
