The Swedish word “gryta” means “pot”, but it can also refer to a one-pot meal like a stew or pasta sauce. It can even be used for soup, though those are more often soppa”. This note will record various ones I make that I both liked enough to record and felt I had time to write.
2026-01-17 game night vegetable tomato sauce
This is one Keldor and I made together, each tossing whatever they liked into the pot, and the result was yummy.I added: I added:
- 1 box crushed tomato
- 1 glass jar tomato paste
- 1 box chickpeas (and their water)
- mushroom powder
- dried nettles
- frozen spinach
- green herbs (including mint, basil, rosemary, oragnao, thyme marjoram, cilantro, tarragon)
- spices (including roasted gatlic pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chilli, coriander powder, cumin, nutmeg, curry powder, cardamon, wasabi powder) Keldor added:
- 1 box lentils (and their water)
- 4 or five cloves coarse choped fresh garlic
- 1 fresh chill, chopped, most seeds discarded because he knows that I don’t want the heat (if I weren’t eating he would have added the seeds, and probably the other remaining fresh chilli)
- A handful of Västerbottensost
- a handful of finlly chopped ready to eat frozen kebab
- a quarter can of Guinness beer
