I stayed up too late last night. Keldor was smart enough to go to bed at a (mostly) reasonable hour with respect to when we get up. I didn’t start my daily yoga till after that. So, there I was, 22:45 at night. Yoga finished, but still sitting on the living room floor, idly scrolling fb, ignoring the part where our alarm goes off at 05:00, when suddenly, a reel comes up, with two cute, fuzzy, vaguely anthropomorphic critters. One says to the other: “Dude, I am so tired, I would give anything for eight hours of sleep”,
To which the second replies: “How about going to bed eight hours before you need to get up?”
To which the first replies “No, I’m not doing that.”
I felt rather called out, and tried being sensible. I sent the reel to Keldor for him to laugh at in the morning, turned off my phone internet and closed all open apps, brushed my teeth, took a shower, crawled into bed. Decided to share the reel with my sisters. Amber points out that Beth shares this problem with me. (She’s not wrong). Then I scrolled more, and didn’t turn off Internet again and settle in for sleep till 23:30. Oops.
Got up with Keldor at 05:20 as usual, of course. During our morning phone call, I started painting the sky on the banner in progress.
I had a zoom meeting this morning. By 9:30 I was having problems staying awake, my eyes kept closing, and I would force them open and try to listen attentively. I was so grateful that the meeting ended at 09:45 instead of going to 10:00 as scheduled. I went right back to bed, and woke 1.5 hours later, from a dream where I was trying to sleep but my eyes kept opening. The exact opposite of how the meeting felt.
Oddly enough, when I returned to the computer I had real problems trying to focus on the screen and read text. Things were as blurry as if I had been reading too many hours in a row rather than napping.
Lucky, it went over, and I managed to put in more than seven hours of work, after subtracting the nap time.
After Keldor got home we painted the rest of the sky and the ground for the Camp Northern Lights Mascot Banner.
