I finished the outline (started yesterday) of a reindeer head with knotwork antlers on the chest of My viking coat while Keldor armoured up.
They ran the tournament in a “Canterbury” style, which means each fighter held the field in turn, facing all of the other fighters, and each bout was fought best two of three. They had planned to run it as a Double Canterbury, meaning that after everyone had fought everyone else, they would start over and do it all again. I don’t think my champion was alone in being grateful to hear that the range of points among the fighters was so widely distributed that their Majesties decided that a secont Canterbury round wouldn’t be likely to change the outcome, so they jumped straight to a final round between Count Padrig and Sir Jan, which went all five rounds.
This was my first chance to test Charlemange’s camera holder, and it seemed to work well.

We have no idea how much battery the GoPro has, so I filmed only Keldor’s bouts, and finals.
Turing it on, and starting the filming turned out to be easy to do while wearing it, just reach up and press the button.
After the tournament I was tired, so after chatting a bit with people I packed away the Charlemange’s camera holder and fishing rods we used as banner poles, and snacks, and hung the banners back up in the hall. Then I went and took a shower and a 15 minute nap, and then put on my 2025 purple-blue silk bliaut short tunic for the evening and returned to the main hall for a couple hours of social time before court.
One of the people I met was Sir Kate, visiting from Avacal. Kate saw rhat I was nålbindning and wanted to learn, so we spent time before court with an impromptu intro to Finnish Stitch lesson hopefully we got enough that the videos are enough later.
Another pair we met are Gerhart and Una, who are just now moving to the Cambridge area from Caid

Keldor and I were on the feast serving crew, and didn’t bother getting places at the table at the feast hall, but hung out in the food prep area and chatted with folk there.
We were both tired, so wound up heading to bed just after 22:30. I wanted to continue talking with people, but tired, plus someone to snuggle up with won.
