Today we came into town, did some grocery shopping, bought some silk from Sofie, and then went to Keldor’s work workshop, where he started building a spit roast grill, so that we can roast the wild pig his brother in law hunted, on Thursday night at Double Wars.

While he did that I washed the car and put a long-needed silver outline on my “rainbow” Laurel wreath on the hood.(When we bought the paint fot it, we couldn’t find a good heraldic green, or purple at the local stores, so went with a darker green than optimal, and the only purple we found was a “metalic” purple, which has, oddly, faded to a cyan/turquoise blue, so while it still reads as kinda rainbow, it isn’t a proper rainbow without purple. We did look again today for green and purple paint, but still no good options, so I am ignoring the problem.)

After doing that I sanded away all of the winter’s new rust spots, added some zinc paint to, hopefully stop them from rusting again, and then covering with black paint. While waiting for the zinc to dry, I cleaned and vacuumed the car, so now it will be a nicer space to spend 15 to 20 hours while driving south.

However, as I was driving home the car started shaking a little, so I stopped in a parking pull-off and checked the tires. The left rear tire rim was very hot (and only that rim). Keldor was about 10 minutes behind me in his work car, so I waited until he arrived (the rim was still hot). He drove my car home, so he could listen, but, of course the problem didn’t reoccur during that final 15 minutes of the trip, and tire rim was not hot when he arrived. I will try calling the local shop in the morning to see if they have time to look at it before we leave on Thursday.
