Luckily, I worked from home today, as the plumbers finally returned to install the toilet and sink in the attic. They had said that they should be able to do so sometime last week or this before we head south for Double Wars, but I hadn’t heard a revised estimate of when before Niklas just showed up.

Since one of the things he will be doing is running the water pipe from the cellar to the attic through the closet area next to the bathroom on the main floor I moved the box of cat sand out from the bottom of that space and vacuumed so that he will have more pleasant access to the space. When he is done we can re-install the shelves in the cupboard and move the towels and cleaning supplies back.

However, there is also lots of packing to do for Double Wars, so I don’t know if I will get to it. I hope that I do, it would be much nicer for the cat sitters if that is done, as it would be easier to find that stuff there, than in the temporary storage areas we have been using since the closet was dismantled on 2026-01-28 a busy morning.

The project has taken not quite five months from the day the contractor started building the walls for the attic loo to transforming the space to a usable loo. It would have gone much faster if we hadn’t done much of the work ourselves, in between all of the hobbies, work, and social life.

Progress before he went for morning fika:

(we really need to get a light for that room!) And after he was done:
