While friends across Sweden celebrated today’s midsummer holiday (and many folk elsewhere had a typical work day), Keldor and I made progress on home improvements.

He dug holes in the yard to hold the concrete supports that will hold up a deck.

Meanwhile, I made more progress on the new bathroom in the cellar.

Now the celing and the windows frame has been painted (and a temporary wall leaning over the window opening has been put up to keep animals and insects out till it is dry ebough to put back the window).

I also experimented with using the cute dinosaur stencils that Agnes gave us to make some raised spackel critters on the wall. Keldor says thst he will later paint a landscape for them to exist in.

Ready for spackel:

Spackeled:

He went to bed early. I stayed up late, to let paint on the window dry, so I could turn it over and do another coat on the other side. Since I was up, I logged into the bank, and see that I have an unexpected deposit. From Museum Nord, in Norway, the accompanying pdf say “paycheck”. However, we haven’t worked there since last summer. Therefore I sent them an email wondering why. If it is a mistake, and I need to give it back, better to know soon. Alternately, it could be them noticing some kind of problem with our pay last summer, and this is money we were supposed to get then?
