When I woke this morning, I really wanted to work from home, as I have done all summer. But yesterday my colleague Phil had said in an email that he is back in the office Wednesday and Thursday this week, and did I want to meet for lunch? Yes, yes I do, but does that also mean I have to come in to the office?

Of course, I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t cook anything new, and I finished the last of the stew I had made the day before, so for today’s lunch I tossed some frozen veg, rice flour, and some Instant soup blend powder in jar. I will add water, microwave it, and call it good.

I managed to get work done on the bus, which was good, as by the time I arrived at the office I needed a nap. I woke, went to the loo, and as I was about to start work Harald dropped by my office to exchange first post-summer greetings, and we went to fika, along with Mats and Bruno. After a pleasant time chatting with them, and doing a little nålbindning, I went back downstairs, and saw Phil talking with Love and Mats, so I had to say hello there, too, and we agreed to meet for lunch. Just as I started working Phil popped in, and we talked about my confusion with a few of the SEAD tables, wherein the foreign key of the child table does not share a name with the primary key of the parent table. He went away and I worked what felt like a very short time before he came back to collect folk at this end of the corridor for lunch.

Lunch was a pleasant time with most of the above, plus a few others, and then I managed about an hour more before it was time to head to the bus stop.

Keldor arrived home around the same time I did, and Gilbert directly thereafter. We got the guest room cleaned up, fresh bed sheets put in, and the new low-profile ceiling light installed in there. I also finished cleaning the laundry room after the shelf installation Keldor did in there the other day.

Then we taught Gilbert to play Qwirkle, and he did really well, starting with a strong lead. Keldor eventually caught up and won, but not by much.

Then Gilbert and I went up to the rest area at Hökmarkberget, the highest point in the area, to view the partial eclipse of the sun through the welding glass he brought for the occasion, and Keldor went to the bus stop to pick up Cinder (and also saw the eclipse while he was waiting).

Then we four sat up way later than we should on a Wednesday evening, before I made another guest bed in the craft supplies room upstairs for Gilbert, who didn’t want to disturb Cinder when he got up for work super early the next morning.
