Since both Keldor and Gilbert had to drive in to Skelleftehamn this morning for work from here, we did a conference call as I worked on embroidery, then I settled in to work. I took a pause when I got hungry for second breakfast and chatted with Cinder, who had gotten up by then, as I made a pot of soup.

A bit later in the day I got a call from a realtor, the house next door to Bryan’s that is for sale, and for which I was curious enough to book a visit to the open house on Sunday, has already gotten a bid, which the owner is seriously considering, so unless one of us who had booked for Sunday also wants to bid, then it is already effectively sold. Not me, I just can’t resits going to the showings of houses in my immediate area.

Keldor had had a problem with pain in his foot this spring, and saw a physical therapist about it, who sent in a recommendation to get X-rays. He had long since forgotten about that, and recently the foot hasn’t been bothering him, so he was surprised yesterday when the X-ray department called him to say they finally have an opening. He reported in today, to find out that it wasn’t an X-ray, but an MRI they did. It will be interesting if they can see anything wrong, now that the symptoms have been gone for a while.

He also got a job offer. He had applied for a job on a lark some time back, and promptly forgot that, too as he was mostly curious, he doesn’t need a new job. They called to talk with him today to see if he is still interested, and made him an offer. He will take the weekend to consider it before deciding, and weigh the pros and cons, but he appreciates the compliment, and also is a nice confirmation that with his experience, should he ever need another job, it should be pretty easy to find one.

I made some naan bread this afternoon, as it is one of Keldor’s favourite snacks. While I was baking Cinder walked up to the store to get herself a few things, and came back with a bag of home-baked raspberry cup cookies from Saluhallen as a thank you for our hospitality, saying that she knows I don’t like to eat factory food. Such a sweet gesture, and very appreciated—I have bought cookies from that baker before. Sweeter than I normally bake, but made with real butter, and tasty despite the sweetness (which, to be fair, is not as sweet as an American cookie).

Keldor and I played a game of Qwirkle (he won, and desreved to, as I failed to see that my orange star could have made a Qwirkle till after he used his for it), and then he made a sheath for his new knife.

I started embroidering the next name of a previous winner onto the lining of the Norrskensbågskytte hood, and then was inspired to send an email suggesting to the heralds that we add long running regional contests that result in a job/title, such as Norrskensbard and Norrskensbågskytte to the Order of Precedence, even though the title isn’t bestowed by royalty or landed nobility.

Drachenwald’s herald replied promptly to point out thst other Kingdoms track champions of various sorts, which is analogous, and looks forward to hearing from Posthorn about logistics, and thoughts from the others.

Thrn I joined Gilbert in zoom early for yoga, and after yoga was tired enough to go to bed while Keldor, Gilbert, and Cinder stayed and chatted.
