Having gone to bed around 21:00, I was not surprised to wake before Keldor’s 05:00 alarm. I was surprised to need to go back to bed already at 09:10. Perhaps I am not completely healthy after being sich last week.
When I woke from my nap I had a photo of Keldor’s progress on his Train bbq:
This made me smile.
When Keldor got home he brought in something unusual, two snail mail letters. (The first that have appeared in the mailbox in months.)
One was a letter from the city, letting us know when the chimney sweep will be coming later this month.
The other was from a collection agency to Reengarda, with a reminder to pay the bill for a pair of performers from Medeltidsdagar. When their first bill arrived, the day the event ended, I had asked our Seneschal (and the main event steward for that event), if hecwanted to talk to them about the part where we don’t have enough money to pai them until we get the money the city will be giving us to cover evet costs, or if I should do it. He said he would, and I added the bill to the list of expenses, and marked it “to pay when the money comes in”.
Today’s letter from the collection agency gives us a deadline to pay by next Tuesday. So given that the letter reached here Friday evening, two business days. The city isn’t going to pay us before then.
This did prompt me to send a note to the jousters (whose fee is also higher than we have in the account) and ask them if he remembered to talk to them about the fact that we need to wait till the money comes from the city, and asked them, do they want 10% now, as that we have.
After sharing the photo of today’s bil with the Seneschal, he shared with me an email from the entertainers who have already sent their bill to a collection agency. They told him on the 12th there is “no hurry” to pay. Their collection agency printed the letter they sent me on the 11th.
I am not pleased.
But after a but of a cry, a rant to the officer’s chat, mixing up a new batch of museli, and a yoga session, I am doing better.
