As we will be gone all weekend, I spent the morning phone call washing both cat water fountains and refilling their dry food, so they should be fine this weekend.

After lunch I made a particularly yummy batch of Homemade Crackers > pumpkin crackers and packed food for the trip.

When Keldor got home we took a quick nap, then I went over to the local health center to get the next vaccination agints tick carried diseases.

On the way home I bought some ice cream for the trip, and then we were on our way.

Around halfway to Umeå the car’s “service” warning light came on. We didn’t have Keldor’s little machine for reading the car error codes with us, but we were planning to stop by Torunn’s on the way through town, and she has one.

But hers didn’t see any codes. So, thinking that hers, which sends messages to a phone, just didn’t connect, we went to Biltema and bought one with its own screen, like Keldor’s. It also saw no codes, and the car drives like nothing is wrong, so we ignored it, and went on the the ferry terminal, where we were early enough we were the third car to board.

We got the keys to our room, and went there first. To our surprise, the room had two beds, which given that there are three of us, seemed a bit odd. (Not that we need three beds as Keldorand I share)
Keldor used the loo, but the toilet wouldn’t flush, so we went to the desk and told rhem, and they moved us to the room across the hall.

The new room was an improvement on all counts. Working toilet, slightly wider beds, four of them, and a window. Keldor and Bryan went to the bar for a beer, and I folded the beds up against the wall to do a half and hour yoga, finishing a bit before they returned.

We then went to sleep for what my phone log claims was two hours, but it was off line so hadn’t noticed the time zone change yet, so there was actually a bonus hour of sleep.

That was enough sleep I woke hungry, so as soon as they let us back in the car I had blueberry pie and yoghurt for breakfast, at 01:00 Finish time.

Then we drove a couple of hours, to a parking only rest stop on the side of the highway. Possibly the same one we found 1.5 years ago. Why are there no rest stops with toilets in this part of Finland?

Now I will put this on Dreamwidth (it will make it to my other blog sometime after we get home), and get some sleep.

We are 3.5 hours driving time from the Crown Tournament site, and we have plenty of time to get there.
