A list of mending projects that aren’t getting their own notes.
- add an entry for the reengarda banners pole channel done in Ireland, and the one done on the ride to Double Wars
- is there an entry for our silk banners, which got their channels the week before Double Wars?
2026-05-20 first day Ireland visit
Mended my Blue thick short nålbinded socks. I had sewed the toe shut, rather than spiraling from the toe, and that seam failed. Since I was out of the blue yarn, I used some black and added one more row to that toe and then sewed it shut.
- make them a card if they haven’t one
2026-05-19 travel prep
While packing for the trip I took in the waist of the jeans I bought on the way home from Double Wars
Reengardas silk banner edging
Two lovely silk banners someone else painted, to which I started adding black silk channels to on 2026-05-02. I finished the first on the drive to Double Wars 2026-05-07, and then realised that I had forgotten to pack the black silk strips to sew to the second banner, so only one of them flew at Double Wars. I did pack them for the next trip, and started attaching the strip durring the 2026-05-20 first day Ireland visit.
2026-04-18 games night
- fixed the fraying neckline on my loose white linen undertunic by adding an extra layer of scrap linen

nålbinding new cuffs for sweater
started 2026-02-28, more progress 2026-03-03 (finished the second cuff)
To fix the worn sleeve cuffs on my blue sweater, 3 nålbindning stitches to one cuff rib. I am using the Finnish stitch varient wirh only two loops on the thumb.

2026-02-18 darning socks
- during our morning phone call I darned a large hole in the right heel of a pair of grey wool five-toed socks with dome beige yarn. Then I also did the smaller hole in the big toe, and added some reinforcement in thining areas of the next toe and the ball of the foot.

- This wasn’t enough time to finish eall of the reinforcement this foot should have, and the other foot also needs mending, so hopefully there will be mending time tomorrow.
2025-12-28 mending
- during my morning sisters call I removed the old, much too small pockets from my blue cotton skirt and started putting in larger ones. Worked on them off amd in all day. Finished insetting them in the evening.
- I still need to replace the lining on the waistline of that skirt.
2025-12-20 mending
- I took in the shoulders of my old black cotton knit dress so the scoop neck sits in a bit better, fixed the bit of hem that had opened up, and darned a variety of small holes.
