2025-10-16 on impulse, I gave away my old winter coat, which was much in need of repair, to Clara, who will try to do decorative mending on it. I was making good progress on my New winter coat by then, and Clara was only here for the short Autumn school holiday, so it seemed like a good idea.

2022-11-28, I started adding reflex trim to the coat

refurbished 2019

2019-12-08 I finally started working on the alterations this has been needing. The goals are:

make the coat a bit bigger by adding new, full length side and sleeve gores of the narrow black wool
replace the pocket with a bigger pocket
add an under-pocket slit so I can get to my keys in the phone baldric pocket without taking off the coat
replace the shredded lining in the sleeves with brown linen

On that day I got it wearable enough to be able to wear it to work tomorrow, and the left side is mostly done. The right side, however, has yet to be started. ~7 hours to do that much. The right side should be faster, as the thinking parts are done (and notes taken), and the new side panel and sleeve lining has already been cut and is ready to attach.

The right side was done enough to wear as of 2020-02-18.

made a wool belt for the coat 2020

started 2020-11-15 during Reengardas Hantverksträff because the trello_iconRefurbish Winter Coat project needs a belt, since the buttons often open themselves.

David helped me remake my winter coat the first year I lived with him, he did some tailoring to make it more flattering, and we re-lined it with a blue and white striped wool I had bought in Italy
