During lunch break during today’s workshop, Iris sitting across the table from me, asked if I am the Riia at whose house they once stayed at in Luleå on the way to a funeral. Yes! I had thought Iris looked familiar, but couldn’t place where we may have met. At my home is the answer.
After the workshop Iris, and a colleague from Västerbottens Museum in Umeå joined Phil, Ershad, and I for the taxi ride back to the airport, so we had pleasant conversation all the way.
Ay the airport Phil expected to have Fast Track as he always does, and I didn’t expect to, as I never have before. However, looking at our tickets, Phil didn’t, but Ershad and I did. So we decided to try. Phil and I walked to the fast track entry, he scanned his ticket, and it flashed red, so he told the person on duty that he was supposed to have fast track, so the person tried scanning the boarding pass, and as they did I commented thatcwe had booked out flights together. So the person scanned my boarding pass, and it worked, so they opened the gate and let us both through. My, but Fast Track is a fast way through security!
I hadn’t planned on buying airport food, I had snacks with me, but Phil bought Sushi, and they had avocado rolls, so I couldn’t resist. Yum!
Eventually, it was time for them to head to the gate, and we started walking. When we passed a sigh I looked, and saq that my gate was F26, so I asked them which gate they had. E-something. So I wished them a safe flight back to u
Umeå, and I waked over to the other gate, and Keldor joined me in my hearing aids.
So, he was with me some time later, when they announced that my flight to Skellefteå was over booked, and they were looking for three volunteers to give up their seats on this flight. In exchange they could offer €150, plus a night in a hotel, with dinner and breakfast provided, and a seat on the 08:00 flight tomorrow.
I was much two tired after three days of conference and workshop to even consider the offer, and Keldor, who clearly heard the offer, gave his opinion: please come home tonight instead of tomorrow, I miss you.
I king of like that my income is now good enough that I don’t immediately dive at such at offer. I hope that whomever took it acutally needed that cash influx just now. However, Keldor and I agreed that if we had been travelling together we would have volunteered. Then the extra night at a hotel would have been a nice bonus, instead of one more night firced to sleep apart.
On the flight I made a bit more progress on sewing, updated my checklist for my New winter coat, showing what is done, and finished writing this.
After we got home Alfr and Clara came over, and we had a great time hanging out and talking. Alfr has made himself a blog:
