I managed to work for an hour before realising I didn’t really have a brain, after which I took the rest of the day as a sick day.

My recovery consisted of first curling up on the couch with a book and a bowl of popcorn. Later, when that had done enough of a job that I could face packing snacks for the road, Holmfrid and I went to Storforsen. Luckily for me, Holmfrid had the energy to drive there. To be different, we took the inland road from Byske, which was a pretty drive.

Of course we started at the main rapids, because it is mighty.

Then we looked at the many smaller streams that break away from the main river channel just there.

and of course, my favourite part, the waterfalls in the canyon

Because Keldor had looked for “jätttegrytor” (large potholes) when we were at Mårdselefors Nature Reserve last week, I had to take the photo of this one by the cliff edge

and I even found a much smaller potholes with their grinding stones still in place

Holmfrid’s dragon enjoyed the views behind whilst Holmfrid enjoys the views ahead

There were so many people swimming, it was hard to get a photo of the water without people

Of course, I sent Keldor photos of the various flowers we saw

Eventually, we decided it was time to head home. This time I was able to drive, as the day at Storforsen gave me the energy I hadn’t had in the morning. We got home at 21:35, and I spent a bit of time catching up on a little of what has happened on line while I was at Medeltidsdagar and today’s adventure, did my yoga, and finally went to bed around 01:30, long after Charlotte and Holmfrid had sensibly gone to bed. (Keldor and Erin got home from the workshop not long thereafter, having finally finished her helmet.)
