Järnhandelen
The local hardware store had their first day of their going out of business sale. The company has been here in the current form since 1982.
I found out when Keldor called me at 09:00. I was working from home, amd actually working, wih focus, and intent to make a serious push to be done with the project soon as possible.
I did have a plan to go ckeck the hardware store at lunch to see if they have any decorative upholstery tacks, as we want to cover the outside of the sliding door to the attic loo with padded leather. So when he said it was a stock liquidation sale, everything in the store 30% to 70% off, starting today at 09:00, I figured I had better check right away. Otherwise, even if they have now, the tacks would be gone by the time I got there.
So I threw on a thick wool jacket and heavy trousers over what I was wearing, and hopped on the electric scooter for a very wet ride in the rain over to the store.
They didn’t have the tacks (I asked, they have had them, but they weren’t hanging on that wall now), but i did get a couple of more bandsaw blades the right size for Keldor’s Emco multi tool. We had bought one there last week, as that size blade isn’t available at the big box stores in the city. So I picked up their last two at 30% off. Normally we would wait till the current one is nearing the end of its useful life, but given the circumstances, it seems wise to just get them now.
I also bought a couple Pyrex small glass bake and store food boxes with lids, not because I really need more, but because they were on sale. Likewise, I picked up their last cake decorating bag with piping tips, because I have never had one, and I wanted to buy things to show my appreciation for their having existed and made our renovation lives easier in the years I have lived here.

But after I got home and hung up my outer clothes to dry I was feeling sad that they are closing (I asked, their last day will be mid November), so I curled up on the couch with a book for a while.
I tried working a bit later,and instead found myself back on the scooter, to the grocery store this time, and then home to make Almond mousse.

It was nearly 16:00 before I had finally settled in to serious work, when Keldor called on his way home. When he heard I was finally focused he left me to it, and I was productive till Bryan dropped by at 18:30 to return the things he had borrowed.
We chatted for a while, and then I sat on the couch with Keldor, talking and sewing till time for yoga

Then we went to work! He installed the sliding curtain rail for the Guest bedroom improvements > bed curtains under the top bunk in the guest room, and then helped me finish up adding the wetroom wallpaper to the bathroom door. Since the other side will he upholstered, we made it easy on ourselces, by wrapping it around and stapeling it in place.
The glue should be dry enough to paint it in the morning, wich means we should be able to hand it back up before house guests arrive this weekend.
