I started the day by altering my blue t-shirt. It is amazing what a difference in comfort one can get from converting sleeves to hip gores!

While Keldor mowed the lawn this morning I went up to the store to buy some milk so I could make the eggnog I forgot to make yesterday (which, since we hadn’t bought milk yesterday, I couldn’t have done if I had remembered it).
This spring Monica, who owned the house next door, sadly passed away. Today some of her family held a garage sale. So after I got back from the store we walked over to check the sale.
There is a huge difference between a garage sale full of things a person thought worth keeping, and one where a family is just decluttering. We went home with a few things.
I have been wanting some sort of toiletries cabinet for the upstairs bathroom, but the room is so small and oddly shaped I hadn’t had any luck finding something suitable, and began to fear we would need to make time to build something.
They asked 250 kr for this cabinet, which seemed quite reasonable and it nicely fits in the space available.

They also had a set of wooden hooks/hat rack that I think will fit in the new upstairs bedroom when we finish insulating it amd making walls (which needs to hsppen before itvgets cold enough to freeze at nights, since there is a bathroom up there now). The nice thing about the garage sale being at the next house, I could carry it home and up to the room to see if it looks like it would fit befor buying it.

We also bought a rug for camping events(no photo), and a climbing mattress for only 200 kr.

Then we set up party tent in the back yard, and moved grill and pizza oven next to it.

(In the foreground you can see the supports for the deck we installed yesterday)
We then moved the lid of the hottub over to where we want the tub it sit, at the corner of the deck, and determined that while the rose bush can stay, the other large flowering plants will need to move.
A big chunk of that rose bush doed this winter, so Keldor spent a chunk of time clearing out the dead bits, while I went in to make the Eggnog, getting it done on time for Keldor to come in hot and sweaty from yard work, so he happily had his over some cheap vanilla ice cream (and took seconds). I had a small glass full, but I put the rest in the ice cream maker, because, yum! (Besides, it keeps better, and, since I put it into silicon muffin cups to freeze, we take smaller servings, so it lasts longer.)
Then I went to the cellar and started measuring and cutting the lists I painted yesterday. We can’t install the ones by the door till Keldor builds the door frame (which means obtaining the lumber for the project), but I could put up the ones by the ceiling, and I am happy with the result.

Then we relaxed for a while, including a game of Qwirkle, before installing that cabinet on the wall (see above). Now our nice long weekend at the end of Keldor’s birthday week is pretty much over. Time for yoga and sleep.
