I woke up thinking of sprang, and, wondering if it could be used to make five toed socks, by starting with just enough threads to go around a big toe, and setting them up with an interlinked beginning to make possible working the stitches to make a tiny tube. Then, after working the top of that toe, start a similar for the next, and so on, merging them at the base when the toes are long enough. I have a clear mental image, that I can’t describe in words. I have no idea if anyone does anything like this to perhaps make gloves or mittens. But since the thought came, I am writing it down (and shared it with Carol, too).

I decided to dig out my sprang belt test piece out of the UFO pile, and try putting it on a bent branch frame like Carol shows in her video on frames

I accomplished this after breakfast, and then we hopped in the car to head up to Furuögrund to buy a door and door frame (400 kr) to go to that balcony we haven’t built, yet.

Keldor hadn’t been there since the 1980’s when he worked at a fish farm there, as one of his first jobs after school. That farm has long since shut down, and now the harbour os just for small pleasure boats, with a cute little cafe by the docks.

So, of course, we stopped for fika. He had coffee and a “kärleksmums”, I had a cinnamon roll.

On the way home we stopped at a second hand store, where we got a new kitchen table for 499 kr, a sprang belt for 20 kr, a tiny wooden scoop for 20 kr, and a new blue glass desert bowl for 49 kr (I can stop buying blue glass bowls whenever I want ;-)

We, of course, mounted the table on the raise-lower legs straight away after coming home, and it is much nicer than the particle board curved computer desk top we have been using for years.

Then I spent some time sanding. First the new shelf that will go up in the laundry room, and then the new door frame, which will will paint black (it was white when we bought it).

Gilbert came over in the evening, and we played a game of Carcasone, and are very happy with the new table. (I won, I am starting to get the hang of how the game works.)
