Having not gone to bed till after 03:00, I slept till 11:00 (not counting kissing Keldor goodbye when he left, since I skipped getting up and talking to him on the phone during his drive).
I didn’t drag myself out of bed till nearly 13:00, but then I made it all the way to the computer, and managed around a hour of “work” replying to easily answered email, but when I got the inbox empty of everything save one task that needs a brain, I realised I don’t have enough brain capacity today to do that, or any “real” work, so I gave up.
Keldor called soon there after and we chatted on his drive home. Then I baked some naan (he had his with left over soup to which he added chanterelle and left over steak bits), and we played Qwirkle. The game proved that my brain is not at full capacity. He often helped me, pointing out better places to put my pieces, and there were multiple times I did a 5 or six point move, he did his move, and then I noticed that I could have had a Qwirkle if I had played something else. (Lucky, only one of those times did he get that Qwirkle before I did), but even with his help, he still won.
I like working the election, but I am glad it is only once every few years, as it takes some time to recover.
In the evening I saw saw a video of some parent making scary Halloween cookies, and one of the shapes was broccoli, using any random cookie dough recipe. I adapted the butter almond base I use for Hallon eld småkakor. This time, I wanted to do only a half batch, which required tweaking, since I didn’t feel like saving half an egg for later, so there is a higher proportion of almond meal and egg, and a slightly higher proportion of flour. I also added nettles and mushroom powder, because yum, and vitamins.,The result was a yummy Butter almond broccoli shaped cookies
This evening Keldor suggested we use an Ebeco foil kit to put in floor heat in the entry way of the house, in conjunction with taking away the doors to the attic in conjunction with Create an attic bedroom. I hadn’t heard of them before, but it sounds like a good idea.
