We had a mandatory workplace meeting for the Humanities department this morning, so I took the bus in. During the meeting I got a call from the workshop, my car is finally ready to pick up.
They had tried to find an affordable used part with which to fix the power steering, but after a few weeks went by with no luck on that quest, I let them know we needed it for a road trip in a couple of weeks, so they just ordered a new one from Toyota.
So, as soon as the meeting was over, I took the very next back as far as Ånäset, and picked up the car, then went home and took a much needed nap.
I woke up just on time to keep Keldor company as he ran errands after work, buying more materials to continue work on the room in the attic. As we chatted I accomplished many important tasks around the house, the most important of which was tossing all of the oldcat liter, washing the litterbox, cleaning under and behind it, and refilling it with all new fresh litter.
After he got home I helped him carry all the plywood upstairs, and then, after eating, I started sanding the new door frame, and, once it had been reduced enough, chisseled the space the latch plate sits in enough deeper that it fits again, as Keldor worked on more covering insulation with plywood.
I was done, and ready to screw the plate in just as Bryan dropped by, so we tested it, and now the door shuts properly, and opens when one turns the handle.
We called that good for the day, and we three spent the evening chatting, as Bryan sewed his coat in progress, and I worked on mine.
